Narrabri is an amazing place to visit, it has some very interesting attractions for the whole family. Whether it be a movie at the Crossing Theatre for the kids or a conference for the business person. Narrabri has a lot to share with you in all walks of life. We have things like the Narrabri Fish Farm where you can see the breeding of the stock for the rivers to be sold around NSW.

Or perhaps a visit to the CSIRO Australia Telescope to show the kids and find out what is really out there in the stars. Perhaps you would like to smell the lavender at the Lucky Flats Lavender Farm or even climb the highest point at Gins Leap. We have the Narrabri Lake home to a number of birds and wildlife and of course Yarrie Lake one of the great tourist destinations of the Narrabri Region.

Perhaps even a visit to the Pilliga Scrub and the Salt Caves might be in order or the Museums that reside in Narrabri and Wee Waa. Every road leading out of Narrabri leads to something to look at it might be Gins leap or Mt Kaputar or even the cotton gins of Wee Waa and the classing room but there is something for everyone in this neck of the woods.

A trip inside the Narrabri Region Visitor Information Centre is an experience in itself. The centre is brimming with fascinating information, delicious local and regional produce, and displays that will impress and captivate you. Here you can learn about the district’s best attractions, discover local history and read about regional farming practices. The highlight is a cotton display, which boasts a genuine giant red cotton picker that guests can climb into and “operate”.

Local and regional produce includes Lindy’s Marinated Sun Dried Tomatoes, Gwydir Grove olives and olive oils, Nancy’s Teas, Nelson’s Honey, Kulaba Olives, Tall Poppy Gourmet relishes and dressings, Lively Linseed mixes and cookies, Rosie’s Honey Mustard Dressing, Eden Valley Olives, The Spice Trading Company spice and dip mixes, Treasured Traditions jams, Indigiearth products, Mountain Valley Beef Jerky, Murrungundy Pistachios, Bacco’s Bakeries cookies and leaves, and Kurrajong Ridge sorghum flour.

You will also find a fantastic selection of souvenirs to remind you of your time in the shire. From hat pins, caps, collectible spoons and stickers to thermos mugs, drink bottles, T-shirts and trendy canvas prints. We also have a stylish range of Linen Press stationery, tea towels, mugs, aprons, tote and shopper bags, double and single oven mitts, and pot holders, in botanical, maritime, blue wren, chicken and coloured themes. For the little ones, you will find a bounty of soft toys and other fun souvenirs, as well as a FREE Narrabri Region activity book that will entertain them during your journey.

The Narrabri Region Visitor Information Centre is conveniently located in the former Australian Cotton Centre, a large grey building on the Newell and Kamilaroi highways in Tibbereena Street, Narrabri. The friendly and knowledgeable staff are eager to help you plan your stay in the shire. From 1986 to 2012, the centre was housed next door in Panton Cottage, a distinctive little building constructed from locally sourced cypress pine and named after the late Ross Panton OAM. Mr Panton headed a team of volunteers that constructed the building to meet the shire’s need to a visitor information centre.
