All Saints Community Church Burren Junction

All Saints Community Church Burren Junction

Our Mission

Who are we and what are we doing with the old church? Bloody great question!

Our local Anglican Church is almost 100 years old. It was originally donated to the community and cared for by generations of locals.

Now it’s our turn.

A group of local community members have come together to make sure this beautiful building remains here for generations to come… and we’re opening it to everybody!

We’re raising funds to preserve, restore and maintain the church so it can continue to be a welcoming place for the whole community. A place to gather, celebrate, reflect and connect, whether for worship, community events or life’s milestones.

We believe this building has a future, and we want that future to be one that belongs to all.

Celebrating 68 years of love

Celebrating 68 years of love

The Narrabri Courier - 16 September 2026

Charles and Annette Radford recently celebrated 68 wonderful years of marriage.

The Narrabri couple, formerly of Burren Junction, are popular community members.

They enjoyed the special milestone, receiving a beautiful, big bunch of flowers from family and phone calls from relatives and friends who are scattered across the country.

There was also a lovely celebration at Whiddon’s Jessie Hunt residence, with flowers and, of course, a delicious cake.

When asked the secret to their long and happy life together, Mr and Mrs Radford shared a simple yet meaningful answer: love and respect for each other.

Museum officially opened, Historic Bicycles Walk launched and Helen Baldwin exhibition delights visitors

History, art and community spirit came together in spectacular fashion on Friday night as the Burren Junction School of Arts Hall hosted one of the biggest community celebrations the town has seen in many years.

Visitors travelled from across north-west New South Wales to join local residents for the official opening of the Burren Junction Museum, the launch of the Burren Junction Historic Bicycles Walk and a special exhibition of paintings by renowned Australian artist Helen Baldwin, alongside works by talented local and regional artists.

The evening marked the culmination of almost two years of planning, research and volunteer effort by members of the Burren Junction Progress Association and the wider community.

Excitement in Burren Junction – A New Crossing and a Secure Pool Gate!

Excitement in Burren Junction – A New Crossing and a Secure Pool Gate!

It might not be quite as exciting as the Burren Junction Art Show, but there's certainly been something worth celebrating in town this week!

After years of waiting, the pedestrian crossing outside Burren Junction Public School has finally received some much-needed attention!

And this wasn't just a quick coat of white paint. The crossing has been renewed using thermoplastic road markings, a process where specially prepared white strips are laid onto the road and heated to bond them to the surface, providing a more durable and longer-lasting finish.

What a pleasant surprise to discover that the work crew consisted of three lovely women who were travelling home to Narrabri after working in Lightning Ridge.

The ladies were more than happy to complete the crossing on their way home. When I told them how excited I was to see the work being done, they laughed and said they were just as excited as I was!

They were also happy to have their photograph taken to mark the occasion.

It's not every day that a pedestrian crossing causes such excitement, but when you've been waiting as long as Burren Junction has, it's certainly worth celebrating!

And there's more good news!

The gate at the Burren Junction swimming pool has also been repaired, ensuring the pool area is once again secure.

Both matters were among the community safety concerns raised with Walgett Shire Council, including at our recent community meeting on 14 October.

Burren Progress Inc is pleased to see these improvements being carried out and thanks Walgett Shire Council and the workers involved for getting these jobs done.

There is still plenty of work to be done around Burren Junction, but it's encouraging to see positive action being taken.

Two improvements in one week – now that's something worth celebrating in Burren Junction!

And to the three lovely ladies who renewed our crossing – thank you for your enthusiasm, your smiles and a job well done!

Now, what can we get fixed next? 😊
